A Week Dedicated To Fashion

Hey everyone its Laraib Irshad here as a guest blogger from Berkeley College. I just wanted to stop by and tell you all about my experience at Fashion Week. I just have to start out by thanking Berkeley College and The Daily Front Row for such an amazing opportunity to interact with such great people and to have the opportunity to work at the Mercedes Benz Tent for Fashion Week.
My week at Fashion Week was insane. The first day I was really nervous I didn’t know what to expect. Once I got there I met everyone and they were all so sweet and welcoming. Some volunteers were working with The Daily for a couple of years so I felt a little better knowing that if I needed help I could ask them. The first day I was outside of Lincoln Center with 6 other volunteers. It was fun meeting other people who were also working with different companies for Fashion Week. On Monday and Wednesday 02/13 and 02/15 I worked inside the tent. It was great getting to meet people that were working in the different booths. Many people were upcoming singes, models, fashion designers, and actors. It was really cool hearing their stories of how they chose their careers and how they were accomplishing their goals day by day. I even met a couple of celebs. Shanae Grimes from the hit series 90210 was there interviewing people about Fashion Week. I even saw Robert Verdi a couple of times.
I got a chance to see a show my last day of volunteering for Fashion Week. It was the Farah Angasana’s collection for 2012-2013. Her whole collection was GORGEOUS! The colors were beautiful and the atmosphere was amazing!
I can’t believe Fashion Week is actually over! I really do miss it and can’t wait to volunteer again. I took a lot of pictures during Fashion Week if you want to check them out they are all on my twitter @laraibirshad. Alrighty everyone it’s time to sign off! I really loved sharing my experience with you all! Take care
